Vaporizers have proven to be effective instruments for the consumption of cannabis and other medicinal herbs. When it comes to the medical use of marijuana it makes sense to avoid harmful activities such as smoking. Additionally, fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious people are forced to renounce the consumption of cannabis if they are unable to afford the time consuming and expensive cooking-method of transforming cannabis flowers into oil.
Fortunately, the company DaVinci introduced a new premium vaporizer series which targets health-conscious individuals as well as medical cannabis patients and eliminates all the negative effects of smoking. Its main features are the removable 18350 battery, a 100 percent ceramic zirconia airpath, heating chamber and mouthpiece as well as the new SMART PATH™ technology.
Since DaVinci was nice enough to send us their premium vaporizer, today, Strain Insider is presenting the DaVinci MIQRO, one of the smartest vaporizers out there.

How vaporizers differ
When it comes to choosing one of the countless vaporizers, there are a few aspects to take into consideration before deciding which one suits you best.
A vaporizer heats up herbs or cannabis by either conduction (direct heating) or convection (hot air). Conduction occurs when the herbs are directly touching the heating element. The main advantage of this is that the herbs evaporate considerably fast. Within seconds of turning on the vaporizer, it is usually ready for use. The most significant downsides are a higher risk of burning and a more irregular heat distribution, compared to convection.
Another key element would be the size of your vaporizer. Stationary vaporizers often have the benefit of providing a better user experience at the cost of immobility. Portable vaporizers can usually be carried in a small pocket and don’t draw too much attention in public. If you want to choose the right gadget for yourself, it is crucial that you figure out where and how much you want to use your vaporizer.
Other important aspects might be the strength of the implemented battery, steam volume, taste, used materials and the user experience in general.
The DaVinci MIQRO
Size and portability
The MIQRO is basically as portable as it gets. The exact dimensions of the MIQRO are 1.34” (3.40cm) W x 3.13” (7.95cm) H x 0.91” (2.31cm) D with a weight of 3.53 ounces (100.07 grams).
These dimensions make the MIQRO comfortably fit your palm and you can easily conceal the vaporizer just by holding it, even if you have small hands.
The depth could be compared to two thin smartphones that are stacked on top of each other, which means that you can easily fit the MIQRO into your jeans pocket.
To achieve a fast heat up and the best vaporization from the very first draw, the MIQRO is using conduction heating. The herbs or the marijuana are kept in the all-ceramic herbal chamber with an also ceramic gauze filter or sieve.
Even though this is a conduction vaporizer, the contents get evaporated pretty evenly. However, you still might want to shake it up once or twice per session.
You can either use the SMART PATH™ mode, the precision mode or the boost mode to heat up your herbs, but more on that later.
With its removable 18350 battery, the MIQRO gets between 1 and 2 hours of usage time. After that, you can either swap the battery out for a fully charged one or you can continue your session while you are charging the MIQRO. This makes it very unlikely that you will ever get into a situation where you want to vape but can’t.
Operating the DaVinci MIQRO vaporizer is very easy and intuitive. It can be switched on by pressing the power button on the side five times in quick succession. After turning the device on, it will vibrate and then quickly heat up to the desired temperature within about 20 to 30 seconds.
You can switch between the four pre-programmed smart paths by pressing the up or down buttons on the side. The current temperature can be seen by pressing the power button once.
This also activates the precision mode, meaning that you can set a precise temperature by using the up and down buttons. If you keep holding the power button, the MIQRO will switch to boost mode and stay at the maximum temperature until you release the button. After that, the MIQRO will enter standby mode and cool down. If no button gets pressed for three minutes during standby, the MIQRO will turn off to preserve power.
Because of its aluminium casing and its small size, the MIQRO can get pretty hot to the touch during longer sessions, however, this can be circumvented by turning it off as soon as you are not actively using it. This might sound like a hassle if you are used to convection vaporizers but, because of its very fast heat up, this doesn’t have any negative effects.
Taste and steam volume
The steam quality of the MIQRO is definitely outstanding and, thanks to the ceramic zirconia, free of disturbing foreign odors. The taste of the vapor is the purest cannabis experience one can make.
However, the most important quality of a vaporizer is that it is easy to inhale without having to suck extremely strong. This is where the MIQRO shines, not only is the airflow very good but, because of the MIQRO’s very good vapor production, it is also extremely satisfying.
The MIQRO comes with some practical cleaning accessories like alcohol wipes and chimney brushes. Additionally, it comes with a 10mm mouthpiece adapter. On top of that, there is, of course, the USB charging cable.
The MIQRO is a premium vaporizer with a price that isn’t all that high. The DaVinci MIQRO has a nice design, is made of quality materials and provides a pleasant user experience as well as perfect temperature control.
