Did CBD Help With Your Anxiety or Was it a Bust? This Project Wants Your Feedback!

Anxiety can affect anyone on any given day and in many different ways; however, there are some people who suffer from this disorder who have it worse than most people do. Feelings associated with this condition can manifest into physical symptoms such as headaches, clammy hands or shortness of breath. Furthermore, extreme cases of sudden and quick panic attacks are also closely connected to this disorder.

A panic attack can come out of nowhere. For example, sufferers may feel totally normal when going to the grocery store to get their weekly groceries, and once inside the store? If they feel overwhelmed, claustrophobic or pressured in any way? They will simply leave whatever they came for right in the cart and make a beeline straight for home. If you’ve ever done something like this, then you already know how debilitating this condition can be.

Standard Treatments

Standard treatment for this disorder generally hinges on either medication or therapy, but in some cases, both are needed for adequate treatment. Therapy typically involves cognitive behavioral sessions with a physiologist or group talk with the shrink facilitating the meeting. The cost of these services can range from $50 to $100 per hour or more and go on for years or decades with no real end in sight.

On the other hand, medications such as antidepressants, benzodiazepines, beta-blockers, and norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake inhibitors are typically prescribed to treat this disorder. These types of medications usually have adverse side effects that include:

  • Increased weight gain and appetite
  • Nausea
  • Drowsiness and fatigue
  • Dry mouth
  • Insomnia
  • Blurred vision
  • Constipation
  • Erectile dysfunction or loss of sexual drive

Some prescription medications such as benzodiazepines can become additive and severe withdrawal symptoms can occur if abruptly stopped. The cost for these medications can also become a financial burden and without insurance or Medicare? Most people simply can’t afford them.

Is CBD a Better and Safer Solution?

As new research emerges into non-pharmaceutical solutions with one, in particular, CBD is gaining ground as a better and safer solution. Clinical studies and trials have been going on for decades into the potential benefits of CBD; however, until the recent legalization initiatives, CBD in the US was considered a schedule one substance. In hindsight, this put marijuana and its derived products CBD and TCH in the same basket of eggs as LSD, ecstasy, and heroin. This made research and funding limited at best.

Now that most states in the US and other countries have adopted the legalization of cannabis on some level, progress into the potential medical benefits of CBD is sweeping the world by storm. CBD has been proven in some experimental models to offer medical benefits that include the following agents:

  • Anticonvulsant
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anxiolytic
  • Antiemetic
  • Antioxidant
  • Antipsychotic

The results are encouraging as CBD is also pointing to better and safer treatment solutions for those who suffer from epilepsy, nausea, vomiting, oxidative injuries, neuroinflammation, schizophrenia, and anxiety.

What’s Today’s Science Saying vs Real CBD Users?

Today’s science is saying that CBD is lacking strong data and concrete evidence. There are conflicting results in the medical benefits of CBD in the few research trials that have been conducted thus far with some saying it works while others saying it doesn’t. Until the verdict comes back, the CBD jury is still out.

On the flip side of the coin, real CBD users are discovering the amazing medical benefits of CBD for their medical conditions. Once shunned upon and considered just a gateway drug, CBD is now opening gateways that were once closed. According to real CBD users, the majority of the vote is saying it worked.
